Paramedic

Closing Date: 30.12.22

Salary: competitive salary DOE

Newbury Street Practice is a dynamic and friendly training practice in South Oxfordshire looking after approximately 15,750 patients. Our clinical team is expanding and we are looking to recruit an experienced Paramedic to work with us to continue to deliver excellent primary care to our patients.

The successful candidate will work autonomously to provide acute clinical care to patients via telephone triage, face to face appointments and on line consultations. They will be well supported by the GP team both on a day to day basis (we have an open door policy & a daily coffee break) and by having a GP lead to mentor and imbed them into the team with regular Clinical Supervision meetings. The practice offers patients a same day telephone triage system following a usual doctor list, which allows both flexibility in terms of offering patients the most appropriate care, but also maintaining continuity of care.

Candidates with a portfolio of experience would be especially welcome, such as home/care-home visiting, long term condition reviews. We are keen to support candidates learning and development to fit with our population needs, so this is not essential.

We are committed to ongoing training and development of all our staff and have regular clinical meetings to which all are invited including journal club, significant events, and quality improvement amongst others. Our Clinical Team are well supported by a strong Patient Co-ordinator, Administrative, Secretarial and Management team as well as having excellent IT systems in place optimising the benefits of Accuryx text, Anima online consultations, EMIS system, Docman 10. We also offer a generous study leave allowance and encourage staff to use this time to address their own personal training needs that have been discussed in their annual “in house” appraisals.

We are also part of a well- established Primary Care Network working with our neighbouring practice and have several allied health professionals supporting our team and our patients including First Contact Physiotherapist, Clinical Pharmacy Team, Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators and Paramedic colleagues.

The service operates from Monday to Friday 08:30-18:30 and we are looking to appoint the right applicant for 37.5 hrs per week, but part-time working will be considered.
