Newbury Street Nurses

Nurse Practitioner

Catherine Bulpitt is our nurse practitioner. She will be available on Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri mornings and Wed afternoons.

She will be able to see and treat minor illness in patients over the age of 12 yrs.

This will include minor respiratory illness, sore throats, earache, conjunctivitis, eczema and hay fever, diarrhoea and vomiting and acne. She will also continue to review chronic illnesses - high blood pressure, asthma, chronic bronchitis and hyperlipidaemia.

If you feel that she would be able to manage your illness, please make an appointment. The receptionists will be giving you an option of seeing the nurse practitioner instead of the doctor.

Midwives

Midwifes

The Practice Midwives are Helen Gater and Lynn Sutton, they can be contacted by telephoning (01235) 764343 or (01235) 205832. They are based at the maternity unit at Wantage Community Hospital.

Lynn and Helen will share your antenatal care, alongside your GP. Your first `booking' appointment will be at the maternity unit. Thereafter the midwives hold 2 clinics at the Health Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.

Parent education is available via the Health Visitors and Midwives and they will advise you on how this can be arranged. You may choose to give birth at the maternity unit, home or nearby larger hospitals. Post-natal care is available on the maternity unit and in your own homes.

The midwives will also help with counselling and support for those who have suffered a miscarriage or loss.
