What is LINK? [Top]

Since you are a patient of the Newbury Street Practice, you are automatically a member of LINK, the Newbury St Patient Liaison Group which was established in 2003. The aim of LINK is to support communication between patients and Practice staff. The LINK Committee consists of patients from the Practice.

What Does LINK Do? [Top]

LINK provides the opportunity for patients to raise issues of general concern that we can discuss with the Practice and provide feedback e.g. through the newsletter, public meetings, and the LINK website.

Please note we are not a complaints group for medical issues - these should be taken up directly with the Practice.

What Can LINK Do For You? [Top]

The types of activities that we could consider include:

  • Organising public meetings on issues of importance to the Practice
  • Organising meetings between patients and staff
  • Surveying patients’ views on issues of importance to the Practice
  • Publicising major projects (such as immunisation)
  • Providing input to the Practice newsletters
  • Maintaining a LINK page on the Practice website

How Can You Help? [Top]

You can contribute in a number of ways:

Ideas: The LINK Committee would welcome ideas for inclusion in its programme of activities. What would you like LINK to do for you? It is important that these are relevant to the needs of patients.

Comments: To make LINK effective, we need your comments on issues that might apply to patients generally. For example, what do you want from your GP Practice service?

Help: The LINK Committee needs more members. If you would like to help us in our liaison activities, please join us. We would also be happy to have volunteers to help with our programme of events
