My specialist interest is in IT and Medical Informatics. Over the years I have written medical software for AAH Meditel and Torex Plc amongst others. Locally I chair the countywide Primary Health Information Management and Technology Advisory Group (PHIMTAG). Nationally I am a member of the PRIMIS clinical advisory group, based at the University of Nottingham. I am also a member of the National Torex Users Group (now iSoft) committee.
I am co-author of an audit package called Aspire, which is a follow-on from Rush for Practices ( Currently in use in over 60% of PCT nationwide). Aspire is freeware, which works on all clinical systems and can be downloaded from the Aspire Health Informatics website. We can provide a library of audits to deal with the new GMS contract QOF, currently being used by over 100 practices. We are also involved with PCTs in developing audits for Enhanced Services and Prescribing audits.
I am a keen gardener and spent as much of my remaining time in the garden as possible. I also enjoy butterfly and bird-watching.
