In an emergency, Repeat prescriptions, New patient registration.

I was born in 1949, lived in London until 25 yrs of age, trained at St Thomas' Hospital and qualified in 1973. Happily married since 1971, we have two daughters who have both followed me into a medical career.
I joined the practice here in 1978. Despite workload, pressure from government changes and the media in general, I still enjoy the job that I do, which is seeing and caring for the patients and their families. Continuity of care is important to me. I would describe myself as a generalist, happy to deal with all aspects of general medical practice. It is always a challenge not knowing what problem will be next through the door so keeping up with and maintaining a broad knowledge across medicine is important. I enjoy treating both young and old alike.
My responsibilities in the practice, apart from patient care, include involvement with the Primary Health Care Team and with the Nursing Teams. I am liaison representative with the Community Mental Health Team and local GP representative for Wantage Community Hospital. I edit the Practice Newsletter and am responsible for updating the news on the website.
When not at work I am likely to be found sailing on the Solent. Apart from this my interests include travel, reading, theatre, photography, the garden, watercolour painting, and sport in general.
